Tags
Tags let you label and group assets across any asset type (devices, users, vulnerabilities, and software) for your own organizational purposes, for example tagging a set of devices as “Critical Asset” or a group of accounts as “Contractor”.
Applying a tag
From any list page (Devices, Users, Vulnerabilities, Software), select one or more rows using the checkbox column, then use the selection toolbar to apply an existing tag or create a new one on the spot. There’s no separate “create tag first” step required.
Managing tag definitions
The Tags page under Admin is where tag definitions are managed (renaming, deleting), separate from applying a tag to a specific asset:
- Search filters the list the same way search works on every other list page.
- Multi-select and bulk delete: select multiple tags with the checkbox column and remove them all at once. Deleting a tag removes it from every asset it was applied to.
- Each tag shows a real usage count: how many assets currently carry it.
Renaming or deleting a tag from this page updates it everywhere it’s used; there’s no need to update assets individually.
Who can manage tags
Applying a tag to an asset is available to contributor and admin roles. Managing tag definitions (rename/delete) is admin-only, under the Admin section. See Admin for the full role breakdown.
